ITS PLACE AND MEANING

From the Sanskrit, Anāhata, the Heart chakra is associated with being at the center of your chest. Originally those who practiced tantric yoga and worked with the Heart chakra would have visualized a subtle, spinning, metaphysical green, twelve-leafed lotus flower When working with the Heart chakra, you should remember that the practice is primarily one of visualization and the purpose is to bring you closer to the divine: for the kundalini, the energy of creation, to rise up through all of the chakras until it meets the divine To facilitate visualization and activation of the Heart chakra, it has been associated with colors, elements, organs, crystals, archangels, positive human values and foods. These connections should be recognized as channels that we can use to help us release the energy and to bring us closer to our connection with the divine It is common to associate the color green and the element of air with the Heart chakra

The mantra, YAM being the seed-mantra of the air element is usually used when invoking the Heart chakra. However, there is no reason to only use the energies of YAM. Should you feel too flighty, disconnected, not linked to earth or simply be failing to visualize the kundalini rising-up through the Heart chakra, there is every reason to work with the seed-mantra for the other elements, earth (LAM), water (VAM), fire (RAM) and space (HAM)

Due to its location the Heart chakra is linked to the heart, lungs, thymus and lymph glands The Heart chakra resonates to the color green The crystals and gemstones: emerald, jade, rose quartz and chrysophrase can be used to assist you energize the Heart chakra The element associated with the Heart chakra is air Archangels  Raphael and Chamuel can be called upon to work with you When contemplating the Heart chakra you might like to eat green foods such as spinach, zucchini, kale, apples, kiwis, avocados  and the like to increase your focus The Heart chakra is associated with compassion, love, self-acceptance, empathy, inner balance, harmony and peace

All the above have been associated with the Heart chakra and all can be used as a means to focus on balancing your chakras and becoming more settled and ever closer to the divine
